Simple Twitter Strategy
As far as some simple good strategies the biggest reason for unfollowing is followers deciding that you are spamming and taking up to much of their timeline, if people can see from your timeline that you are thanking each new follower with same message over and over, in our experience many people would see this as spam and unfollow.
Try to take an interest in your followers, check out what they do and interact with them on an individual level, people like people don't make them think your a robot.

Facebook offers Instagram 1 billion :0
Crazy but true... it is rumoured that Facebook has offered to buy photo sharing app Instagram, 500mil in cash and 500mil in Facebook shares, will Instagram accept the offer ? Who knows ? One thing we do know is the owner of Instagram has publicly stated they have received no other formal offers.
If it was to happen what would this mean for Instagram ? What changes would Facebook make ? Would we see more integration between the two ? The questions are endless and only time will tell.

Asking people to follow you, don't do it ! Being asked by someone you don't know to follow them is a turn off, while initially it might seem like a good idea, when we take a closer look it actually has the opposite effect. Asking for them to follow you makes it look like your desperate for followers and not only that, it makes it look like your having a hard time getting followers, people want to follow people because they have an interest, not because they feel obliged too. Making these kind of tweets also looks quite spammy in the timelines of twitter users who already follow you and is likely to lead to unfollows. Don't do it !
Do i have to pay to promote my facebook page status ?
NO ! Theres been a lot of hostility towards a new feature Facebook introduced recently which allows a Facebook page admin to promote posts to people who like that page, a lot of users are mistakingly interpreting this handy tool as "I HAVE to pay so fans see my post"... Wrong. Your posts are not seen any less than they were before, facebooks timeline is selective just like google search results for instance , while your page post may not be that relevant to a user you can now pay to ensure it appears in more peoples timelines, similar to placing an ad through google Adwords, don't believe the negative hype out there, this is a handy tool which can yield good results.

As many of you know spam is currently running rampant on twitter, things were looking up at a time and it seemed twitter had fixed the problem which was mainly being done through tweets but it's now being done through direct messaging. You must have seen one by now... One of those cringe worthy messages saying "whoa check this crazy vid of you - LINK" people aren't doing this on purpose though, in fact you could be one of them yourself. Make sure your not as it's very damaging for your following and will cause mass un following of your account... Check your sent direct messages, change your password and regularly check your 'allowed applications', as a rule of thumb if you don't recognise and application remove it. Scamsters are using the technique to make money from people clicking on the fake links and then phishing their accounts don't become a victim.
